Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the Men's Finals through a five set 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 3-6, 6-2.Ths was the fourth consecutive loss for Federer against Nadal and a four and a half hour long match.
At the awards ceremony, where the cup was given away by Rod Laver, Roger Federer could not hold back his tears, leading to Nadal consoling him, and saying, "Roger, sorry for today. I really know how you feel right now. Remember, you're a great champion, you're one of the best in history."
